MRP (Materials Requirement Planning), a core function in manufacturing SCM, has been used globally since its basic concepts were proposed in the 1950s. DDMRP, a methodology proposed by Carol Ptak, a former President and CEO of APICS, and Chad Smith, offers a breakthrough to MRP's limitations.
